Covid-19: Aer Lingus layoffs and Bank of Ireland to close 103 branches

Aer Lingus will be temporarily laying off 129 staff members at Shannon Airport without pay for three months. The airline said it was no longer sustainable to continue rostering inflight service and ground operations given no flights have operated to or from the airport since 5 April last.

Bank of Ireland plans to close 88 branches in Ireland and a further 15 in Northern Ireland. No branches will close in the next six months with the closures set to begin from September.
