日本外交大臣西蒙·科維尼（Simon Coveney）證實，在日本鑽石公主號遊輪上，一對有雙重國籍的夫婦被診斷出有Covid-19冠狀病毒。

這對夫婦最近被診斷出患有冠狀病毒，並從船上送到日本的一家醫院，目前正在接受治療。

他們有另一個歐盟成員國及愛爾蘭的雙重國籍，不是愛爾蘭常住居民。

Two Irish citizens test positive for coronavirus on cruise ship in Japan

A COUPLE WITH dual citizenship has been diagnosed with the Covid-19 coronavirus on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan, Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has confirmed.

The couple was recently diagnosed with the coronavirus and moved from the ship to a hospital in Japan where they are currently being treated.

The man and woman share dual citizenship with another EU member state and are not normally resident in Ireland.

The HSE this afternoon said it was continuing to “advance preparedness plans here in Ireland” as 78 suspected cases have so far been tested nationally.

EMERGENCY SERVICES WERE on hand to meet a Ryanair plane that had just returned to Dublin from Poland last night after two passengers had fallen ill mid-flight.

The incident comes amid heightened fears around the globe over the spread of the coronavirus.

Despite several dozen cases now confirmed across Europe, Ireland has so far had no confirmed cases. The two passengers at the centre of last night’s scare later tested negative for any virus, the airline said.
