Woman placed in isolation in Kerry hospital as she shows symptoms similar to coronavirus

A PATIENT has been placed in isolation in University Hospital Kerry (UHK) amid concerns they are showing symptoms similar to those of the coronavirus.

The person – understood to be a woman who may been in contact with people who travelled to China recently – presented at UHK with respiratory problems.
As a precautionary measure, the woman was immediately placed in isolation.
All medical staff dealing with the woman are now complying with strict hygiene and control protocols.
The woman is being treated for respiratory issues and is understood to be receiving anti-viral medications.
While she is understood to be quite unwell, her condition is stable and not life threatening.
