What will I be doing on a day to day basis?

·       Support and advise Consumer Mobile Service and related stakeholders on obligations under EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant European data protection laws, especially the Irish law

·       Provide strong local expertise on the area of privacy/data protection and follow developments related to e.g. threat landscape, market and industry practices, regulation and legal practices, authority views, recommendations and opinions as well as incidents/breaches

·       Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining policies, processes and guidelines

·       Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments and privacy reviews of services, processes and processing operations as well as provide solutions to fix gaps and/or mitigate risks

·       Identify and assess privacy risks as well as develop and monitor mitigation plans

·       Support with handling data subjects’ and authorities’ requests as well as develop related processes

·       Plan and deliver privacy training as well as improve privacy awareness

·       Lead or participate in privacy related projects, initiatives and assignments, when applicable work together with local partners (e.g. law firms)

·       Support HR in handling employee privacy related issues

What skills do we believe you will need in order to be successful in this role?

·       At least four (4) years of working experience related data protection/privacy preferably in Ireland

·       Master’s or bachelor’s degree in law (or related discipline supported by legal studies / working experience)

·       Excellent knowledge on the GDPR, Irish Data Protection Act and other EU privacy laws (e.g. ePrivacy)

·       Active participation in the Irish data protection community with good connections and professional networks

·       Fluency in English both written and spoken

·       Excellent collaboration skills and ability to produce well-written and easy to understand documents and presentations

·       Independent, result oriented and business minded way of working as well as capability to work in a fast changing, multicultural working environment

·       Ability to multi-task, set work priorities based on risks and manage conflicting deadlines

·       Previous experience related consumer internet or mobile service/app industry is considered beneficial

What skills do we believe could be a benefit for you to have within this role?

·       Previous experience in contract management

·       Previous experience in mobile internet domain

·       Able to work in one or more European language or in Chinese.

·       CIPP/E or CIPM Certification, good knowledge of GDPR.
