愛爾蘭首席醫學官托尼·霍洛漢博士說，有些健康的人死於冠狀病毒，而吸煙者的風險可能更高。

霍洛漢博士表示，愛爾蘭機場將不會進行溫度檢查的常規入境檢查，因為這“行不通”。

衛生官員堅稱，所有醫院都已確定有隔離室, 以容納病毒的病人。但是，沒有計劃設立隔離中心, 以隔離大量人士。

Some previously healthy people have died from the coronavirus and smokers may be at higher risk, Ireland’s chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has said.

Dr Holohan also said routine entry screening involving temperature checks would not be introduced in Irish airports as “it does not work”.

Health officials insisted isolation rooms have been identified in all hospitals to accommodate a case of the virus.

However, there were no plans to set aside centres where large numbers of people would be quarantined.

Meanwhile, two Irish people who are in quarantine on the Diamond Princess luxury liner off the coast of Japan must remain there until February 19.
