The Department of Health has confirmed 1,296 new cases of Covid-19 and 6 further deaths.
There have now been a total of 85,394 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 2,200 deaths related to the virus in Ireland.
According to rte “Today’s case number was the highest reported since the pandemic began, although more tests are being carried out than earlier in the year.”
