The Department of Health has said that 204 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed.
It brings to 1,329 the total number of cases confirmed to date in the Republic.
One man in the East of the country has died – the man had an underlying health condition.
It brings the total number of deaths here to seven.
The number of people to die from Covid-19 in Northern Ireland has risen to five, after two more deaths were announced today.
The Public Health Agency also said 24 new cases have been confirmed, bringing the total to 172.
